Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva visited the CSUF Startup Incubator last week to discuss entrepreneurship in Orange County with Director John Bradley Jackson, Dr. Deborah Ferber, and David Chamberlain ’14. The Assemblywoman, herself a graduate of California State University, Fullerton learned about the approximately 50 startups that the CSUF Startup Incubator has helped on their journeys from concept to launch, the thousands of student entrepreneurs who have benefited from entrepreneurship classes at Cal State Fullerton, and the more than 3,000 businesses that the CSUF Consulting program has worked with over the last thirty years. She was impressed!

At the meeting, Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva had the opportunity to talk with a CSUF Entrepreneur actively launching a business. David Chamberlain, CEO of Interact, which helps children and families of children suffering with disabilities find relevant services for them, discussed his entrepreneurial journey with the assemblywoman, Director Jackson, and Dr. Ferber. They talked about the ups and downs of starting a tech business, how he benefited from the CSUF Entrepreneurship program, how working with the staff and coaches at the CSUF Startup Incubator is helping him launch his business now, and how he received an investment from a Titan Angels member. Assemblywoman Quirk-Silva was duly impressed and noted that Interact would be a valuable resource for her constituents.
