Harvey Kong, left, launched insurance comparison shopping site Goodfetch with the help of the CSUF Startup Incubator

There is some exciting news in this week’s edition of the CSUF Entrepreneurship Insider! One of our Residents from the CSUF Startup Incubator has launched his business and we hosted the Semifinals of the CSUF Business Plan Competition last week. Read about that and all of our events and more.

Shopping for insurance can be a painful process but CSUF Startup Incubator Resident Harvey Kong has leveraged his vast experience in this industry to come up with a better way to shop for car and home insurance. Called Goodfetch, Harvey has created an online platform that drastically simplifies this painstaking process by utilizing an easy to use interface that enables shoppers to focus on only the best deals in his large, and growing, network of insurance providers.

In CSUF Startup Incubator Resident Launches Insurance Comparison Shopping Platform we had a discussion with Harvey about what his mission with Goodfetch is and how the CSUF Startup Incubator helped him get to launch. It all started on the first day of his Residency when we sat down with him and his Startup Coach to develop a custom road map that has helped him get from concept to launch. It is an exciting thing getting to see an entrepreneur we worked with launch his business and that excitement will only continue grow as Harvey’s startup gains traction with consumers!

Speaking of excitement, the CSUF Business Plan Competition Semifinals were last Friday. Our panel of judges listened to nineteen different CSUF student-entrepreneur concepts and they were all fantastic. A couple of the concepts presented will be recognizable to you but most of them were new to us and while they all cannot advance to the Finals I hope that they all work on launching their concepts. We will be posting an update later this week on the five concepts that will be advancing to the Finals on April 14. So stay tuned!

Sincerely,

John Bradley Jackson
