This Wednesday at 6pm at our Irvine office at 1 Banting we will be serving dinner and have a talk about how to market your startup. Please register for this event here.

One of the most common situations that we see at the CSUF Startup Incubator is an entrepreneur with a fantastic concept who is working on building a good team and has most cylinders of the startup machine working well. But then we take a look at marketing and that’s where we start to see some problems.

If you’ve never marketed a product before, or even if you have done marketing for an established business, creating a complete marketing strategy for a startup is a completely different undertaking altogether. Not only do you have to figure out who your customers are (which isn’t always obvious) but you have to figure out what the best way to reach them is. Throw in branding, how marketing relates to sales and advertising, customer discovery, and a whole litany of other topics that every marketing pro has to cover and the task can seem to be too daunting for the normal entrepreneur.

Fortunately, there is a way that any entrepreneur can learn how to effectively market their products and/or services within their means. To help shed some light on this we welcome marketing executives Jason Khoo and Eric Darby. Together, they have helped dozens of startups and growing businesses develop effective marketing strategies that conformed with their available resources.

Jason, an alumni of Cal State Fullerton, and Eric will go over the necessities that any entrepreneur needs to know and help attendees develop their own startup marketing toolkit that they can use for their next marketing campaign.
