Is it worth it to rely creating high quality content and using facebook ads to create brand awareness and get sites to quote you and link to your site?
Garrett, thank you for your question. The short is that it is worth it in some form or another with the caveat that every business is different and the proper strategy is to start out creating quality content and work on growing the number of unique visitors you have coming to your site. This may include Facebook ads or it might not depending on who your target market is.
Having experienced mentors is very helpful. Jason has office hours at the CSUF Startup Incubator every other Monday and I encourage you to schedule some time with him: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/entrepreneur-mentor-jason-khoo-internet-marketer-csuf-startup-incubator-tickets-27694624367
Our program also does marketing consulting projects where we do an intensive dive into our clients’ businesses to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy for them. More information on that can be found here: http://business.fullerton.edu/Center/Entrepreneurship/#MarketingConsulting
You can also reach out to me directly at tlindsay [at] fullerton [dot] edu and we can talk at more length about what your needs are.
All the best!
Travis
It’s good to see Fullerton providing digital marketing resources from reputable marketers. Our industry has sadly become full of “snake oil salesman” who call themselves “experts” with little to no knowledge of what they are doing. I don’t know Jason, or Travis, but I commend the effort to make a difference through education.
