CSUF Entrepreneur Office Hours are Open!

Another week has flown by and we have been hard at work on the strategic plan for the CSUF Startup Incubator. As some of you may know, we will be adding a second location for the CSUF Startup Incubator at the CSUF Irvine campus. This is an exciting time for all of us and we have some great plans in store for that location once it opens. I promise that once we have finalized our plans I will give you a more detailed outlook for the new location.

In the meantime, we already have a lot of activity going on at the Placentia location. As I mentioned last week, we have lawyer David Van Sambeek coming in tomorrow for office hours at the CSUF Startup Incubator’s Placentia location (Schedule an appointment with him!). David is an extremely bright fellow and has already had the opportunity to give advice to some of the entrepreneurs in our community during his previous two office hours.

It’s hard to overstate the importance of office hours with professionals like David; so if you have any questions about your business (maybe you need some clarification on IP you are developing or want help with a founder’s agreement) then you absolutely should come to these office hours. They are completely free but there are a limited number of spots available, so make sure to reserve your appointment now!

Also, we have begun publishing some of the videos from our CSUF Startup Incubator talks on our YouTube channel. We have a couple up now with plans on publishing more in the future. Expanding our online educational presence has been a strategic goal of ours for years now and we view these videos as a natural move to make.

If you have any ideas for Incubator speakers, office hours, or anything else please get in touch with us. We’re always on the lookout for great ideas and your ideas only makes things better!

David Van Sambeek is an attorney for Wellman & Warren, LLP and he has graciously agreed to hold office hours at the CSUF Startup Incubator regularly for our Residents, students, and everyone else in the CSUF Entrepreneurship community. (If there are no times available we probably have other times available on another day.)

This is a tale of a current software startup and all that it’s done and still doing to raise capital. This talk will not sugarcoat anything, it’s the story of the real life startup grind. The company I’ve riased this money for is Badu Networks, a tech company that develops wifi solutions, and it has been around for 2.5 years and has raised $4.5M all from family, friends, and Angels without having any revenue. We’re nowhere near being successful.
Hear what’s worked and what hasn’t. This is real life, right now stuff!
