CSUF Entrepreneurship welcomes Eric Romero onto our Advisory Board! Eric’s background in economic development and public-private partnerships will be a tremendous asset for CSUF Entrepreneurship as it continues to increase its focus on social entrepreneurship.

Here is Eric’s bio so that you can get to know him a little better.

Eric Romero is an economic development professional with over 8 years of experience managing a diverse portfolio of programs that support small businesses, revitalize commercial corridors, and advance inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Eric specializes in business and community outreach, program design and management, public policy, and public-private partnerships. He currently serves as the Director of Economic Development for Sunstone Management where he leads the development of partnerships with governments, universities, and business and community associations to create programs that support diverse early-stage startup founders and advance local economic development.

Prior to joining Sunstone Management, Eric served as the Business Development Officer for the City of Long Beach Economic Development Department where he oversaw the City’s Revolving Loan Fund, Business Improvement District Program, small business and nonprofit grant programs, technical assistance programs, and more.

Eric has a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach. Eric recently received Accredited California Economic Developer status from the California Association for Local Economic Development.
