The people who take Management 461 (Entrepreneurial Management) are entrepreneurs or, at the very least, people who are or will become leaders in the professional world. If you’re a CSUF student and are reading this then you are probably our target audience: LEADERS.

What is special about the Fall 2013 semester of Management 461 [NOTE: I am only talking about section 21798 of Management 461 – the other section is awesome too just in different ways] is that those intrepid students who take this class will get a unique experience that will place them more than a step above their peers. Student entrepreneurs who enroll in Management 461 this semester will:

• Learn the latest entrepreneurial thinking including the Lean Startup
• Be taught by Dr. David Obstfeld who has an extensive background in entrepreneurial teaching and research
• Receive insights from immensely successful serial entrepreneur Michael Sawitz throughout the semester
• Work in and with the people at one of Southern California’s most energetic Business Incubators: FastStart.studio
• Work directly with startups for your Student Business Consulting Projects
• This is an experience that can make you many long lasting business relationships (Underestimate the importance of this at your own peril)
  
• Being a member in this class is also something that you can proudly put on your resume

The only possible drawback to this class is that it is held in Irvine. But, really, if you think about it, that isn’t too much of a drawback. The parking is better there. The Irvine campus might also be closer to where you live. And the classrooms are just as good as the classrooms in Mihaylo (and significantly better than those in MH or LH, and the Irvine Campus isn’t haunted… yet).

And, really, all those reasons I laid out above in favor of taking this specific section (Section 21798) should be more than enough to convince you to take this class. Admittedly, this is a new concept so there might be some kinks to work out. But the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Like I said: You will get to work with innovative companies where they work.

In fact, I just talked with Dr. Obstfeld and he told me that some of the classes are planned to be held at FastStart.studio’s campus. The more time you can spend at FastStart.studio the better because you will: get to participate in talks with successful entrepreneurs, see what entrepreneurs are doing right now and what does (and doesn’t) work, be able to ask questions of people who have already done what you plan on doing (being an ENTREPRENEUR!), and so much more.
